General Intercessions
4th Sunday of Easter

Presider: Our merciful and compassionate Creator has called each of
us through his Son to come to the Kingdom of Heaven. With confidence in the
Fatherhood of our Father, we offer God our needs, concerns, and hopes through
the Son.
Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “God, hear our prayer”
1.Lord, send you spirit to Cardinals called to select a Bishop of
Rome, a new pope, we pray
2. That Francis is welcomed into Paradise with all the saints and continues to
intercede for us, we pray
3. Lord, bring us to awareness of people in our parish who are in need of
nourishment, shelter, clothing, education, and health care, we pray
4. Bless, Lord, the professionals who provide security, protection, education,
and health care that they may always see you present in those they serve, we
pray
5. Lord, bless those who govern with insight, courage, and wisdom in their
decisions, allegiances, goals, and commitment to service, especially to those on
the margins of society, we pray
6. Lord, bless those suffering from physical and mental illnesses. We pray for
their families who work to assist them, we pray
7. Lord, have pity on all who are abused physically, socially, economically, and
mentally. Lift up those who love the abused and enlighten them in their care for
their loved ones, we pray.
8. We remember friends and family who completed life’s journey and reside in our
hearts. May those who passed the Portal of Death be welcomed into the heavenly
kingdom. That the intention of this Mass, (list here) _________ is (are)
remembered in our prayers, we pray
9. Let us add our personal intentions of hand, heart, and mind: (pause) Accept,
Lord, these intentions placed on the altar with our gifts for ministry to our
community, we pray
Presider: Lord, Jesus. You are the caring,
the good shepherd. Our lives are guided by your love for each. Send the Spirit
to open our hearts to your presence and care. Open our eyes and ears to hear and
see those who are in need of your help. Guide our hands to reach out to those in
need. We ask this of the Father through your intercession.
