PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

5th Sunday - OT

February 8, 2026

1.  In thanksgiving for the body of Christ that it may be a beacon of faith proclaiming the mystery of God by providing bread, shelter, salt and light to a world in great need

2.  In thanksgiving for Pope Leo who leads us in humility to remember those among us who face oppression, false accusation and malicious speech and serves as our example of bringing light to all in the house.

3.  In thanksgiving for all preachers of God’s word, that like Paul, they may rely on the Spirit and power of God as they proclaim the mysteries of the gospel

4.  In thanksgiving for the poor, that in their hunger and affliction they may hear God say, “Here I am!” in our response to their need.

5.  In thanksgiving for those who have died who revealed God’s glory  as our brothers and sisters sharing their salt and light with us.
